Still Here !

I guess this is what happens when you don't post for awhile. I used to be able to upload a picture and it would show as a picture, then I would write "around it" Now it uploads as HTML and I am LOST !!

So till I figure this out my posting may be a bit messy. I have shown 3 finishes, Ladybug Ladybug by LHN stitched with DMC on 28 ct. Queen Annes Lace. Rain Go Away by Prairie Schooler with DMC on 28ct. not sure what kind/color. And Cross Stitcher in Residence by Lizzie*Kate with DMC on Sassys 16 ct. Adia Sugared Coffee

Happy Easter

I wanted to stitch something for Easter and just couldn't find anything that I could get done in time. So I decided to do this pattern from CCN. It is a freebie that I got with an order. I stitched this on Sassy's Green Shamrocks, with DMC and CC Pink Champagne and just love the way it turned out.

This week’s SBQ was suggested by Cindy and is

Do you have a system for organizing freebie charts in your stash? If so, what is it? Do you print out copies of all of the freebies that you find on the web (that you think you might actually stitch) or do you maintain electronic copies of them until you are ready to stitch them?
This is an excellent question and I'm hoping to get some ideas from others. Right now I have them either saved on my PC or printed out sitting in a box. I do have the binders and page protectors, just need to get them in there. I do like the idea of categorizing them and/or saving to disc.

Spring Cleaning

found these two items. I do remember stitching them and it was a very long time ago.

I have finished a freebie by LHN called Small House Sampler.
I did my initials instead of the ABC, giving it a personal touch.
This will fit perfectly into a 5x7 frame, which I am now going to be on the lookout for.

I stitched some on Geranium House today and found an error, so had to rip out a few stitches. Other than that it is coming along nicely.

WOW Can't believe it has been so long since I posted anything. First of all thank you to all who left comments on my Heart. I have decided to leave it as is. We have had so much rain this month, I thought I was going to have to build an Ark :) The first rainfall was so heavy, bouncing off the ground and non stop for 48 hours. So much so our sump pump could not handle it and we ended up with a flooded basement. Then we had a few nice days, cold but no rain. Then we had 5 straight days of rain. Even my dog was getting depressed. For 3 days now we have had good weather, sunny and warm. I'm hoping it stays this way. Speaking of rain, I started Prairie Schooler's Rain Rain Go Away and since it wasn't helping to stop the rain, put it aside :)

And did this freebie from Lizzie*Kate. It did help to brighten the day !

I then decided I needed to stitch CCN Geranium
House, it's bigger then I thought, but so nice.

I also have another small one I started, it's almost finished so will post a picture when it is done, probably tomorrow, along with some stitching I found when doing a bit of spring cleaning.

Heart

Here's my latest finish Heart, another LHN Threadpack. I used some fabric I had from Silkweaver and am not pleased with how the wording is too light and doesn't show very well. I'm thinking of taking it out and using a darker thread. What do you think?

I have picked up Sampler Gameboard and put some more stitches into it.
I find these little houses have a lot of work to them, but once they done are so cute.

MARCH

came in as a lion so hopefully will leave as a lamb. It snowed and there was enough to just cover the ground, but each day seems to be getting warmer and longer. Before you know it Spring will be here. I can hardly wait. My stitching is not going as fast this time. That darn frog showed up and I needed to pull out his work a couple of times:) Hopefully he's gone for good now and I can finish "Heart" another LHN Threadpack.
I'm going for a finish today, if not Wednesday as I work Monday and Tuesday. Will post a picture when it's done.

I never thought this would get done so quickly. I stitched it in two nights. It is LHN Thread Pack Blueberries on 28 ct. Twilight Blue.

I have all the thread packs and only stitched 3 of them. Since this one went so quickly I may start another tonight. Which one, you ask, well tune in tomorrow for an update :)

It's been a while

since I have posted, I just don't know where the time goes. This is by LHN stitched on 18 ct. white Adia,
Rain by Prairie Schooler.

Heart by The Caron Collection and Peace from JCS Ornaments 1999.
I'm still working on The Sampler Gameboard, those little houses may be 20 x 20 but there is a lot of work to them.
It's raining today, so that means major laundry and housework to be done.

Eagles at Trout Lake

It's that time of year when all the eagles show up.
1200 were seen just north of here around Squamish. Usually I see 1 at Trout Lake, but this year he has brought a friend along. Both gave quite the performance of flying around, letting everyone know they were here.

I'm still working on LHN Home of a Needleworker and have put it aside to stitch my Christmas Ornament this weekend. It's Peaceful Retreat by Something in Common from JCS 2006. I should have it completed in a couple of days and will post a picture then.

Tagged....twice !!

I've been tagged to reveal 6 weird things about myself, TWICE. Well I'm having a hard time thinking of 6 so I won't be doing 12 :) I guess things don't seem so weird when you do them yourself and if you do them for a lifetime it's just a part of who you are.

  • I loathe tomatoes, but love anything made from them, ketchup, salsa, tomato soup.
  • Speaking of tomato soup, when I was little I would eat it straight out of the can, which may explain why I usually eat a spoonful before I cook it.
  • Eat french fries with mayonnaise (only at The White Spot, and if you've been to this restaurant it may not be weird to you)
  • Can't go to bed before I do my nightly Sudoku puzzle.
  • Unless I'm expecting a phone all, I don't usually answer my phone, but let the answering machine get it.
  • Can't swim or tread water, but love to play in a pool as long as the water does not go above my neck.

I now tag:

Kim

Wendy

Sharon

Heather

Sally

Heidi

Off to do my Sudoku then bed :)

Two Finishes !!

This is Winter Wonderland by Bent Creek. I used DMC on 25 ct. Khaki.

I have a new camera and I can't seem to get good pictures of my work. Scenery is no problem. So I must be doing something wrong. They always seem to be fuzzy and dark, which is why you see the lamp light in WW.

The Golden Christmas Santa by
Mosey 'N Me, using DMC and CC (for the tree) on 28 ct. Victorian Red Jubilee.

I have also started two new projects. 12 Christmas Blessings by Lizzie Kate using DMC on 28ct. Toffee by Sassy's Fabrics. The other being Home of A Needleworker by LHN using DMC on 18ct. White Aida. I'm getting very anxious to start the Sampler Game Board by Drawn Thread. The SAL I am in doesn't start till Feb. 1st, hoping I can wait till then or till I finish one of the above, whichever comes first.

Monday, January 15, 2007

This is my second finish of the year. Two Blue Houses by Little House Needlework stitched on Sassy's Tan Marble 28ct evenweave.

This is the second Santa I am stitching on Sassy's Sage 28ct Lugana. There will be 3 on this piece of fabric.

I have also made a couple of starts, The Golden Christmas Santa by Mosey 'N Me on Victorian Red Jubilee. Lizzie Kates 2006 Flip It's on Sassy's (YES I love her fabric.) Toffee 28 ct. evenweave.

I'm still working on my 2007 List, there is so much I want to stitch that realistically my list is not achievable, so I have broken it down to a "few" and will add more later.

We still have the snow from a week ago with more expected tonight and tomorrow. Our last few winters have been so mild with hardly any snow that I find this hard to get used to. Later this week the prediction is rain, now that's much better, warmer and drivable :)

Winter Wonderland AGAIN !

This is the view that greeted me this morning when I looked out my bedroom window. It was not the nice fluffy stuff, but wet. I was to take my Mom to two appointments today and told her to phone and change them as I was not about to go out in this. Late this afternoon it turned to rain and most of it is gone, although tonight it is very windy.
I finished my first Prairie Schooler Santa today, guess that makes it my first finish for 2007 ! I started #2, there will be 3 on this same fabric, but hey it still counts as one finished.

Tuesday, January 02, 2007

I woke up this morning and it was raining buckets, so much so Tiger did not want to go out. It was early, so I watched a movie (The Aviator) and stitched for 3 hours. By then the rain had stopped so I took Tiger to the lake and stopped at Michael's to get some DMC I needed for Two Blue Houses. I got in another 2 hours stitching this evening, which is good as I go to work for the next two days and probably won't get much stitching in . I can't seem to upload a picture of my Two Blue Houses WIP, there is one in my 2007 WIP at webshots. I'm off to bed now as 5 a.m. comes way to early !

New Year's Resolution

My New Year's Resolution is to get my stitching organized. I have a little bit here and a little bit there and a whole lot over here, you get what I mean. I do have storage shelves, but am usually in a hurry when I put something away and just stick it wherever. I also need to get all my DMC together so I know what I have and where it is being used. In my start today to do this, I have put together my WIP and have them in a storage box, where they will stay when I am not working on them.

These are 3 WIP I am doing now. They are each being done on Sassy's Fabrics.
I Will Always Be A Wildflower is on Winter Blues, Two Blue Houses is on Tan Marble and the Prairie Schooler is on Sage. I also have some others that need a "little" stitching on them to be done, Will get to them soon and then post a picture. I'm also in the middle of making my list of what I want to stitch this year and should have it up in a few days. I also have some completed that need framing and a couple of those will get done this month.

Happy Birthday to ME !!

Today is my 53rd birthday, OMG where have all the years gone. It seems just like yesterday I was graduating from high school and going into the "grown up" world. My Mom was going to take me to see The Holiday, but there was a mix up with the time when I was to meet her after her dental appointment so we didn't make it. She says she'll take me next week. For dinner we had pizza from my favorite place. We always get money for our birthdays and I believe I will be buying the IPod Shuffle, the stores are all sold out now, so will get it in the New Year.

I belong to a Cross Stitching Birthday Club and received the most amazing gifts, from fabric and floss to leaflets and kits. They are all great, but one is calling out to me to stitch right away. It is "I will always be a Wildflower by Sam Sarah. I think I have the perfect fabric and will use DMC, so will be able to get started on it right away.

The ducks at Trout Lake don't seem to mind the ice. First one shows them at a side of the lake where it was starting to melt and the other is in the middle of the lake.

These two pictures show the damage the snow storm caused. There were 6 damaged trees like these ones.
I received some stash this week. I bought some Prairie Schooler little cards on e-Bay. I have already started one. The picture shows the cards I got and two Kelmscott Designs Needle Minders, which I bought from Stitching Bits & Bobs.

Yesterday I was looking at the magazines in our local grocery store and found this Cross Stitch Pattern-a- Day Calendar. Of course I just had to get it, not like I need another calendar around here, but hey some of these patterns are adorable. I know for sure I won't be stitching all of them nor will it be on the day it shows up, but I will do some throughout the year and following years !
