Maybe they're not aware of the problem, especially since you already had another person's comment about a similar experience. I know lots of companies like to know about such things instead of getting late critics about their products :) I'm not sure now if I'll use the skein I'll receive - hmmm... maybe the best will be to try and see how much the coloration is visible on the fabric. Some overdyeds you are advised to rinse in cold water first then dry, I am sure you could do the same with silk. It is still lovely and I would finish it and enjoy!Wandahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11283164810428498475noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-35190354.post-81070993794807767782008-02-27T20:24:00.000-08:002008-02-27T20:24:00.000-08:00I had a similar problem with Belle Soie Rose of Sh...I had a similar problem with Belle Soie Rose of Sharon while stitching with it on Lakeside Linens Vintage Bittersweet. I used a waste knot several times, and I noticed that the linen threads around it were always tinted pink/red after I removed the knot and anchored the silk. This is not so much of a problem on Bittersweet (a very pale, dusty pink), but I can imagine it would be very aggravating on a pure white ground.

I'm always very careful not to get my stitching wet or damp, so my guess is that it's just something about this fiber/dye combination. Too bad, because it's a beautiful silk! Still, I would certainly use Belle Soie in the future. I would just be inclined to use a little extra caution with Rose of Sharon.

Oh well! I'm just glad to know that I wasn't the only one to experience this.

- Erin in VAAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-35190354.post-58579630238344134622008-02-27T17:07:00.000-08:002008-02-27T17:07:00.000-08:00It looks wonderful, I'll enjoy seeing it when you ...It looks wonderful, I'll enjoy seeing it when you get the finishing on it done. Can't help on the color staining the fabric. If it didn't get damp I wouldn't have thought it should have left a mark on your fabric. I haven't used any of the CC silks yet, so don't know how other colors may behave. If I use that one I'll keep an eye on it.
Suestitcherwhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11795367484568298951noreply@blogger.com
